An Unlikely Opportunity

Starting the operations of a travel agency during a challenging time like the one we are living through — when everything changes so quickly — requires vision and sensitivity to anticipate trends.

One of the questions we were most often asked when we launched TP Corporate, in February, was: “Why open a travel agency now?”

The “now,” in this case, refers to the fact that the impact of the pandemic that began in 2020 is still strongly felt by the global travel industry. Restrictions on domestic and international travel remain in place, and traveling has become something done only in urgent or essential cases.

However, precisely because of the challenges we face, it’s important to stay alert to less obvious opportunities — such as transporting top executives on business missions with total safety, managing logistics, and paying meticulous attention to the new scenarios and updates in each destination. That became the core purpose of TP Corporate.

The insight came during a virtual meeting with around 100 prominent businesspeople and professionals from the industry in Brazil. As we discussed alternatives for traveler mobility, a natural synergy emerged between our company, Teresa Perez Tours, a leader in leisure travel, and LTN Brasil, specialized in corporate travel and events.

Both parties realized that the corporate travel and events segment would likely be among the first to resume activity. That gave us the confidence to launch a solution to meet this demand in a market that would be reborn with a completely new meaning.

This comeback will require a broader and different perspective. That’s why we decided to create an independent company, capable of combining the best of LTN Brasil’s technological and corporate travel expertise with Teresa Perez’s long-standing tradition of personalized, high-end service.

From research conducted in 2020, we found that companies’ decisions to move their professionals would no longer focus solely on cost, but also on safety — including health protocols — and executive comfort. Therefore, it’s critical to guarantee full protection for professionals at a time of differing health regulations, border closures, and varied entry requirements across countries.

We understand that companies with complex demands regarding the movement of their key personnel will need the support of a specialized agency like TP Corporate to carry out these missions.

At Teresa Perez Tours, we already had a history of providing personalized and exclusive experiences for our clients — many of whom are high-level executives — carefully managing all the details expected in a luxury leisure trip. Now, the idea is to bring that same expertise into the business world.

Our expectation is that the sector’s recovery will begin as early as 2021, as mass vaccination progresses around the world. Still, this will be a long-term process — just like our planning with TP Corporate.

We believe that returning to travel is an essential part of the “return to normality.” For this reason, we are working tirelessly to be ready for that return — aiming to support companies that need to send professionals to close deals or attend in-person investor meetings abroad.
